Palestinians are under siege, with the harshest oppression occurring in the territories Israel has illegally occupied since 1967. Israel does not act alone. US government and corporate support is an integral and indispensable enabler of all of Israel’s aggression. Israel is the world’s largest recipient of US military aid. This government spending is in turn a boon for large corporations, particularly in the US, that produce the tools of oppression. NYU, the largest private university in the US, uses the financial services company TIAA-CREF to manage its employees’ retirement savings. TIAA-CREF, the 86th largest corporation in the US, controls around $400 billion in assets. It invests this $400 billion in corporations worldwide, trying to increase the retirement savings of its members that include NYU professors and staff.
This video has been created for the NYU TIAA-CREF divestment campaign
Join us in pressuring TIAA-CREF to divest from these five companies – Caterpillar, Northrop Grumman, Motorola, Veolia, and Elbit Systems - that are profiting from and perpetuating the illegal occupation.

Can someone please explain why the “NYU to TIAA-CREF” online petition is closed. The care2 petitionsite simply states “This petition is now closed” on the upper-right side of the site. Does anyone know the reason why?
